Open Position for Executive Director

Position Title: Executive Director of Florida Federation of Fairs & Livestock Shows, Inc. (FFF)

Location: Remote work. Applicant must be a Florida resident

Reports To: Florida Federation of Fairs Board of Directors

Overview: The Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of the FFF. This position serves at the pleasure of the Board of Directors and as a full-time employee of the Florida Federation of Fairs. The Executive Director ensures the organizations mission and objectives are achieved while promoting the growth and sustainability of Fairs across Florida.

Position Status: Full-Time

Mission Statement of Florida Federation of Fairs, Inc: Increase the overall quality of Florida’s Agricultural Fairs, provide the members with the support and guidance needed to enlighten our youth and educate the fairgoers on agriculture, trade, entertainment and heritage of Florida.

Core Executive Director Duties

  • Provide overall organization and leadership, management, and strategic direction for the Federation
  • Ensure the organization’s mission and objectives are achieved
  • Support the growth and sustainability of fairs and associate members throughout Florida
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors and committee leadership and schedule those meetings
  • Coordinate organizational operations and member services
  • Oversee membership engagement and growth initiatives
  • Fulfill the FFF Strategic Plan
  • Manage communications, newsletters, and website updates
  • Handle all marketing and promotion of the Florida Federation
  • Coordinate social media outreach and marketing efforts
  • Build partnerships with sponsors, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Develop educational programming and training opportunities
  • Advocate for Florida fairs and the agriculture industry
  • Maintain strong financial acumen, oversight, including budgets, invoices, reconciliations, and accounts payable

Convention & Event Responsibilities

  • Planning and organizing the Annual Conference, Summer Workshop, FFF Annual Fair Trip, and other events of FFF industry partners
  • Developing conference schedules, workshops, and discussion topics
  • Managing speakers, facilitators, moderators, and educational sessions
  • Coordinating sponsorships, trade show operations, and vendor relations
  • Working with committee chairs to finalize event logistics
  • Preparing convention programs and printed materials
  • Managing gala events, auctions, receptions, and networking functions
  • Organizing legislative trips and statewide fair visits
  • Coordinating hotel, registration, and event logistics
  • Supporting Federation business meetings and board meetings

Administrative & Member Support Duties

  • Process memberships and onboard new members
  • Coordinate traveling exhibits and educational resources
  • Maintain relationships with fair managers, associate members, and industry partners
  • Assist committees with projects and organizational initiatives
  • Promote FFF programs, scholarships, grants, and educational opportunities including developing member benefits

Leadership & Industry Engagement

  • Represent the FFF within the fair and agriculture industries
  • Engage with state agencies, sponsors, and industry organizations
  • Foster collaboration among fairs across Florida
  • Advocacy and legislative initiatives
  • Communicate legal issues that affect fair industry
  • Help shape educational content around current industry trends, marketing, safety, livestock, entertainment, sponsorships, emergency planning, and operation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or five years of work-related experience
  • Proven experience in nonprofit management, with a strong understanding of Fairs
  • Must have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Board Governance
  • Strong Financial Management and Fundraising Experience
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and stakeholders

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive commensurate with experience
  • Reimbursement for approved travel expenses
