2023 Scholarships

FEDERATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The Florida Federation of Fairs will be offering two (2) scholarships to Florida Fairs to help defray the costs of attending the Annual Convention in May. Two additional scholarships will be awarded to a Zone 2 Member Fair.

Priority will be given to Fairs that have not recently attended the convention but all Fairs are eligible. The intent of this scholarship is to encourage smaller Fairs to send someone to the convention.

The Scholarship will cover:
  • Full registration for the Convention for one attendee
  • Three (3) room nights at the Convention hotel
Also, additional scholarship monies have been allocated to provide: Discounted registration fees for additional attendees from the same Fair.

Application deadline is April 1st, 2023

YPI SCHOLARSHIPS

The Florida Federation of Fairs will be offering a limited number of scholarships to Florida Young Professionals (ages 18-40) to help defray the costs of attending the Annual Convention in May.

These scholarships are for young people ages 18 – 40 that are involved in their local Fair and have not attended the Convention within the past two years.

The Scholarship will cover:
  • Full registration for the Convention
  • A hotel room at the Convention hotel for 3 nights (Thurs - Sat nights)
Application deadline is April 1st, 2023

Institute of Fair Management Scholarship

1. Applicant must have submitted an application for or be currently enrolled in the Institute of Fair Management or the Institute graduate program and be a Florida resident involved with a Florida Fair or a Florida Federation of Fair’s Associate member.

2. Applicant may apply each year he or she is enrolled in the Institute or the graduate program, but shall not be eligible to receive a scholarship more than 6 years total. Preference for awarding of scholarship each year will be to first-time applicants.

3. Application period is January 1, through March 1 of each year.

4. Each year one (1) scholarship of $1000 each may be awarded if committee deems there is a qualified applicant.

5. Scholarship winners will be announced at the Florida Federation of Fairs Annual Banquet.

6. The scholarship can be used for payment of fees incurred for the IAFE Institute of Fair Management Summit or the graduate program. a. Registration fees b. Airfare c. Hotel d. Transportation

7. The scholarship amount will be disbursed as reimbursement for fees as noted above upon presentation of receipts for expenses and request for same to the IAFE.

8. The recipient must use the scholarship funds for attending the IAFE Institute of Fair Management Summit or the graduate program within two years of receipt.

9. If the full amount of the scholarship is not reimbursed to recipient within the time frame as noted in #8 above, the scholarship will be returned to the Florida Federation of Fairs Scholarship fund of the IAFE Education Foundation.

10. Scholarship applicants will be evaluated by a committee from the Florida Federation of Fairs and award made upon the following criteria: a. 50% of score based upon participation in Florida Federation of Fairs activities. b. 30% based on financial need c. 20% based upon essay section of application.
